He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
He says, “You’re mine!”
He says, “You’re fine like wine!”
But could he not see my soul turning pine?
He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
But there is no place for me to bloom.
He says, “I treat you as a Queen!”
But, I am always handed a broom.
He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
Unaware that I’ve lost my glow.
He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
But rapes me when I say a ‘No.’
He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
But laughs when I bleed.
He would never stop even when I plead.
He calls me his ‘Sunshine’
But would the Sun ever shine on me?
Lord, please set me free.
A powerful piece and sends a message that all that glitters isn’t gold. How unfortunate that you or anyone else has to endure abuse. Thank you so much for participating.❤️

So heartbreaking! The thought of anyone trapped in an abusive relationship is horrible.

Yikes, now that’s actually quite horrific! Abusive relationships are so terrible, and are quite risky to get out of.
I like how you’ve twisted something so bright and fun, into something quite dark and scary.
